Executive Biography
Innovation Economy Corporation
Amro Albanna, Founder and CEO

Amro Albanna is founder and CEO of Innovation Economy Corporation, a collection of businesses designed to accelerate the creation and monetization of entrepreneurship. Albanna created Innovation Economy Corporation out of a desire to better facilitate the challenging and chaotic entrepreneurial path that he knows so well.

Over the course of his career, Albanna has founded multiple startup-technology companies that cover a diverse array of innovations including, an application service provider (ASP), -- the forerunner to global positioning systems (GPS) and radio frequency identification technology (RFID)-- full-motion video game simulators, and applications for entomology and diagnostic nanotechnology research, to name a few. As such, he has both raised tens of millions of dollars in capital and created hundreds of millions of dollars in value with both public and private global ventures.

His first startup was acquired by a NASDAQ-listed company in 2000 and was later involved in a reverse merger transaction on the American Stock Exchange. Then as CEO of his next venture Actiga Corporation, now Avisio, Inc., Albanna directed the development of full-motion video game controllers designed for the Microsoft Xbox and Sony Playstation consoles. Albanna’s innovative work was recognized as an official partner by Microsoft, sold on QVC, and positively reviewed by PC Week, PC Gamer, and Popular Science, among other national media.

An advocate for entrepreneurs, Albanna is sought out for his ability to manage and grow public and private companies along with his extensive knowledge of capital formation growth via merger and acquisitions (M&A) and joint ventures, strategic planning, global sales and marketing, and world-wide business development including North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

His current focus with Innovation Economy Corporation includes the development and operation of Innovation Economy Connect, Innovation Economy Properties, and Innovation Economy Managed Ventures. Much of this work is in partnership with stakeholders from education and government. With these ventures, Albanna is developing a path for entrepreneurs to avoid the chaos of the free market system as well as seek out opportunities to manage and monetize global innovations.

Albanna is deeply committed to nurturing and strengthening innovation both in Inland Southern California and across the United States. Albanna serves on numerous boards including Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship and the City of Riverside’s SmartRiverside. His professional affiliations include University of Southern California Trojans CEO Forum, Riverside Technology CEO Forum and Tech Coast Angels.

Albanna received his bachelor’s degree from Cal State University, San Bernardino. He is a sought after guest lecturer and motivational speaker at many universities, sharing his lessons in business, entrepreneurship, capital formation and technology commercialization.
