Important Reminder from Student Financial Services

If you are a student returning to La Sierra University this year, please note the reminder below (originally sent out to students in Spring Quarter of 2010).
Every student whose balance is not completely covered by financial aid must make a payment of at least one-third of the balance due by the published deadline before each quarter. The deadlines for the 2010-11 school year are as follows:
  • Fall: September 15, 2010
  • Winter: December 15, 2010
  • Spring: March 15, 2011
Students who delay their registration until after the published deadline, or who fail to make payment by the published deadline, will be charged a $250 late payment processing fee. [This fee is in addition to the late registration fee students will be charged if they register during the first week of the term.]
We have notified all returning students of this change via email, and will be sending a postcard to them shortly reminding them of this change. New students are being informed of this financial clearance procedure as part of Orientation. New students will not be subject to the $250 fee in their first quarter of attendance. More information can be found at our website www.lasierra.edu/sfs under the "Financial Clearance" http://www.lasierra.edu/index.php?id=3164 link.
In the School of Business, we have been informed that this change is intended to curb the last-minute rush of registration and financial advising often witnessed at the start of a quarter. And as business courses are already starting to fill up for the coming Fall Quarter, now is the time to get "class-ready." Call Student Financial Services today at 951-785-2175 to maximize your aid opportunities and ensure you are cleared to hit the ground running this Fall.
